Welcome to Meir Kahan's Website! All paintings that appear on this site were orders that the artist painted in recent years.



TO ORDER YOUR CUSTOM-MADE PAINTING

The following rules between the artist and the client are legally binding. Please read them carefully.All orders made at this website implicitly certifies that the client agrees to the terms and conditions.

A client ready to place an order for a new painting may contact the artist by mail or phone (which appear on this website). The artist and client will discuss and agree upon the specifics for the new painting and will each sign an agreement containing these details. After signing the agreement and the client making a down payment, the artist will start to work on the painting.

The artist will meet the client in person only in the Jerusalem metropolitan area. Meetings outside of Jerusalem are also possible but only for the purpose of closing and signing the contract.

Changes to the painting will be accepted up to a period of four days after signing the contract, except if the size of the painting does not permit any revisions. Any changes requested afterwards will incur a 1000 shekels fee per extra day of work. Please note that changes may affect the delivery date.

After completion of the painting, the client has to pay the remainder of the payment in full and pick up the painting from the artist’s studio.The artist reserves the right to upload the final painting to this website, unless the client specifically objects.

PRIVACY AND CONFIDENTIALITY

The purpose of the site is to exhibit paintings and to invite orders. The client will not be asked to give over his personal details. Transactions will be conducted by phone or at a meeting with the customer. All requested personal information will be used for the transaction only and will not be stored in any database whatsoever.



PAYMENT METHOD

An order will be made by telephone or during a personal meeting. After a down payment of 20% of the total fee, the order will be accepted and the artist will start working on the painting.

The final 80% of the total payment becomes due after notification from the artist that the painting is finished according to the client’s specifications. The final 80% must be paid before supplying the painting.

The 20% down payment can be paid by cash or bank transfer immediately after signing the contract. The final 80% can be paid by cash, bank transfer or credit card.Checks are not accepted.



CANCELLATION

According to the Consumer Protection Regulations of 2010, Section 6, the right of cancellation does not apply to goods which have custom measurements or requirements. For a custom made painting, there is therefore no refund for the down payment or the rest of the fee as stipulated in the contract.



DELIVERY

The artist will give a delivery date based on the painting’s specifications, after the final 80% is already paid. The method of delivery will be decided between the client and artist.

The final painting can be picked up from the artist’s studio or shipped to the client’s address. Delivery charges will be paid by the client.

Please note that the delivery date is calculated by the time it takes the artist to finish the painting and doesn’t include actual delivery time.

My Journey Into Art


Meir Kahan (1982-) was born in Buenos Aires (Argentina). In 1990 his family moved northward to Santa Fe City, where he grew up and obtained a Technical Baccalaureate in Visual Arts and a degree in "Teacher of Visual Arts” for Primary and Secondary schools. He was an assistant and disciple of the renowned artist Ricardo Calanchini who specialized in gargantuan paintings, and organized and made montages of painting and sculpture exhibitions at museums and art centers in Santa Fe City. He studied painting in the Master Painter Guillermo Roux Foundation workshop in Buenos Aires City. He has participated in and received many awards in Municipal, Regional and National Painting exhibitions. He took part in 25 group exhibitions and had 3 solo exhibitions in Santa Fe City. In 2010 he moved to Israel, and today lives and works in Jerusalem. He receives many orders for art work from Mexico, Chile, USA, Canada, Argentina and cities throughout Israel.
